Online Omnipresence

For a long time, I quarantined the thought of uploading pictures on Facebook. Hostility continued, until recently, when my Picassa pleaded for some free space.

I recall, not very long back, when our hard disk began showing signs of saturation. It was then, that I inducted Picassa. Now, with this Gmail application reaching tolerance limits, Facebook offers a handy solution.

While juggling with pictures and reshuffling their locations, I realize there are a lot of pics, coming under the” Wallpaper segment”. The birds, trees, the blue sky, artistic skyscrapers……Barring a handful people (nature lovers are an obvious exception) the majority of us, don’t even have a second look at them.

Nevertheless efforts have gone into capturing these images and they deserve to be treasured. Appreciated or not, is an entirely different question.
Facebook Albums turned out viable. The purpose was served. Both Picassa and Hard Disk got a new lease. A third partner now stands to share the online omnipresence of a few Kodak moments.

I hated picassa as soon as I saw them selling the storage space! Initially, It was unlimited. They then reduced it to 20gb! But now, its 1Gb! I think some years down the line, fb will be the only alternative for storing the pictures :)
