AURANGABAD
HURDA PARTY - Gathering at
a farm to get a slice of rural life is what Hurda Party is all about. Internet
tells me Pune / Solapur are famous for Hurda parties. But before internet/ www/ google - there was Aurangabad which brought me this experience.
Eating/ Chewing / consuming "Raw" -just as the nature provides it to us-
was the essence of Hurda parties. I remember tasting milk- freshly milked from
cow .
BOMBAY
HIGH RISES -Talk about Bombay
and 2 things you can't miss.1 is the
High Rise Buildings & other is the.........……..I leave it blank for now. My
Prompt M will talk about it. Sky line of Bombay is a widely discussed subject. Sea facing or City Facing they ask. The book Mumbai
Fables talks about how a planned Satellite City called New Bombay [ Navi Mumbai]got built
giving details of the high rises and landscape of Bombay.
CHENNAI
HOTEL SARAVANA BHAVAN
- Long before, orange shirt swiggy
friends came in; we use to go to restaurants to pick up food. Hotel Saravana
Bhavan on our street has been a long time friend. We use to call it our " Extended
Kitchen". There have been Sundays when - Home Cooked rice + Saravana Bhavan Sambhar have been on our plates. And that's the reason why I could
instantly relate to the ad that says " Kuch ghar pe banaya - kuch swiggy se mangwaya"

Who cannot think of Saravana Bhavan! There are 2 Saravana Bhavans in the Bay Area itself. Just a suggestion. It would be helpful to non-Hindi speakers if you give an English translation whenever you write something in Hindi.
Thanks SG- for your suggestion. Will surely bracket the translations from hereon.
Here "Kuch ghar pe banaya - kuch swiggy se mangwaya" is the tagline of Swiggy which means -"Cook some at home / order some from swiggy"
Milk straight from cows--my memories exactly:)
We used to live in Chennai when it was called Madras. Sarvana Bhawan thali used to be so yummy.
Hurda party sounds interesting. Staying close to nature has always allured me.
