An Unusual Morning

The school students were not used to such "unusual" silence in the morning.
Their normal day, started with English prayers, followed by an Inspiring Thought. In the 3rd segment they would listen to selective National and International Headlines. Finally the National song - for it was their school's way of imbibing patriotism.

This morning was different. The students were at the assembly session - waiting for prayers to begin. The wait was getting longer. Restlessness of the younger classes and curiosity of the elder ones was evident. Nothing seemed to be coming through.

Silence prolonged and.......gradually they started accepting Silence as their companion. Slowly they started loving the stillness around them.
"Eerie silence" was turning out to be an "eloquent one".
"Quietness" was "quite relaxing", when,  they could feel,  the cool breeze blanketing their face.

It was the same breeze, grazing the branches of trees around them. It was the same breeze that blew the fur of feathery birds.
There was a feeling of one-ness , a feeling of Unity. A touch of nature.

This was the 1st time, they were experiencing their "Assembly session" in an open forest.

  1. An interesting thought that silence in nature is different to silence elsewhere.

My word, what a beautiful concept to introduce to school aged children. There is something very profound about the quietness and solitude of a forest.
