Aurangabad-Schooling & Junior College / Bombay- Graduation & First job/ Chennai - Marriage & Motherhood

AURANGABAD
ISD-STD-PCO ( Telephone Booths]- Not sure of its relevance today. Before phone lines reached Indian homes- public telephone booths boomed as commercial establishments. Our building too housed an ISD-STD shop. Its was run by one "Mr Chowdhary"- so we use to call it "Chowdhary's shop. Making STD Calls after 9 pm had some discounts probably- most calls we made to our grandparents in Bombay- were after 9pm. A meter reading would then roll out a bill for the time we spoke.

BOMBAY
INDI MEET- A blogger meet .Thanks to Indi-blogger- have attended 3-4 Bloggers meet- one of them at RK Studio. It was Master chef season and got to meet celebrity cook- Vikas Khanna. Meeting fellow bloggers whose names appear in the comments section is an exciting experience in itself. More enthralling is the see the faces behind those pseudo name bloggers!

CHENNAI
IDDI-APPAM -  Imagine White noodles cooked in circles. Rice floor forms the white,  noodles gives you the texture,  round defines its shape. Chennai tells me to have it with Kurma [ mixed veg gravy] or Coconut milk. Kerala version of it is called "Puttu"
Between 7.30- 8 AM  a Cycle laden "Iddippam" man comes to our street selling the dish as Morning breakfast. His techie side is evident- when he plays a pre-recorded voice that shouts "Iddiappam- Puttu". If my 2.5 half year old is asleep at this hour;  she wakes up at the sound of this Iddiappam Man
