Aurangabad-Schooling & Junior College / Bombay- Graduation & First job/ Chennai - Marriage & Motherhood
AURANGABAD
DHANDE KAAKU - She was my 1st Sanskrit teacher. Grammar basics - "Devah- Devou- Devaah - Prathama" - started
here. Academic association with the
language ended in Aurangabad not knowing , years later, Chennai would present another
opportunity to reconnect with Sanskrit
BOMBAY
DRIVING SCHOOL - To
clarify- I still don't drive. Will need a whole new dose of road experience to
get me behind those steering wheels. But yes, the driving school lessons
happened . Accelerator- Brake- Clutch- introductions; those early morning
drives with instructor; the reverse gear practice. Then came the driving
test- and finally a license!
CHENNAI
DUMMIES DRAMA- Stage
plays throw up an entirely different experience. They teach you habits, you
haven't been accustomed to before . Keeping your mobile phone on silent mode for 1.5 hours; No shifting seats while the play in on; Leaning to take that patient pause when the scene on the stage is
changing. Chennai taught me- its worth practicing
these nuances to enjoy a flawless performance on stage.
I have a licence but don't drive either :D
ReplyDeleteMy roommate in college was learning Sanskrit. It sounded beautiful, but also very complicated...
The Multicolored Diary
Whenever we visited Chennai we always loved to watch stage plays, especially that of S.V. Sekar and Crazy Mohan. Very sorry Crazy Mohan passed away 9 months ago. RIP.
ReplyDeleteNever easy to drive on Indian roads.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if things would be any different in the post-COVID new world order!
Selected a great topic. It would give the pleasure of walking in the memory lanes. Grt.
ReplyDeleteThank you for introducing us to Dummies Drama - we enjoyed the experience every time we went! :D
