Wrap Up Post of the Year
Time for the wrap up post of the year. If it is to be described in less than 140 characters, a fast paced year, I would say. I recall the 1st day of 2010, watching 3 Idiots with friends. Infact there have been lots of firsts this year. 1st time watched a Tamil Movie (Raavan), immediately on release. Managed to catch up with 2 English Movies (Inception, and The Social Network) on big screen. Loved the way, small screen treated its viewers with good genre Marathi Movies. Else I might have missed the likes of “Jhenda” and “Saat Chya Aath Gharat”. 2010 revived my taste for Marathi Cinema.
Moving away from Movies. Shopping, got a bit over-rated this year. Explicitly expressed my love for bags, by not giving a miss to BAG SHOPPING, whenever the opportunity came my way. Won’t say I have an excellent collection, but definitely own a decent variety. Gift shopping was another frequent experience of 2010. With colleagues and friends getting married, the question “what to gift” haunted more than countable times this year. Breaking the monotones of Crockery, ventured into the segments of “Candle Sets”, “Gift Vouchers”, and ”Couple Watches”. Insisted wherever possible, to decorate the wrapping with bows and ribbons. Slightly moving away from austerity? Well, you may say so.
Sigh! Not much on the travel front, infact 2009 scored far better on this. Hope 2011 comes up with exciting travel itinerary. But to compensate, it looked like people came town to the city, bringing in cross cultural experience. Playing host to a Chinese Delegation followed by a Canadian Clientele mark themselves well in my 2010 calendar. Taking a break from work, to play host to a relatively distant – geographically close cousin, was a 1st time experience. For reasons unknown, I feel a sense of achievement here!
Reading was good and serious. Thanks to Just Books Clc Library at the door step.
On the blogging platform, whole heartedly participated in Blog- A – Ton, which ensured at least 1 post a month. Followers and Comments that came along were a bonus. 2010 also brought me the 1st Blogger Meet. “Unknown friends from the Virtual World” may sound scary to read, but touchwood, the experience was pleasant and memorable.
While Cooking still remains a newly explored area, driving continues to be an unexploited territory. So you know, what drives my New Year resolution for the coming year. Ending it on this note, see you in 2011. :)
